In this artwork, the exploration of water and its reflection is brought to life through the use of serene yet vibrant imagery. The interplay between the clouds and the deep water, as well as the waterlilies and the sky, creates a sense of symbiosis and harmony that is both captivating and dreamy.
This piece is a poignant reminder of the transient nature of life. Through this artwork, the viewer is encouraged to cherish every moment and to appreciate the beauty of the world around them. The use of bold, vibrant colours and calligraphic brushworks serves to evoke a sense of wonder and awe, while the underlying message of impermanence and transience adds depth and meaning to the piece.
The use of impasto creates rich texture and depth on the surface. It is hand-stretched by the artist. It can be picked up locally as a stretched canvas, or shipped rolled in a tube.
Sealed with UV varnish. Comes with Certificate of Authenticity.

—-About the Process—-
Taking inspiration from Honore de Balzac's "Father Goriot," a French literary work, I sought to capture the contrasting emotions of agony and hope in life through this artwork. The piece began with loose brushwork, allowing for a sense of fluidity. While typically I would define the background layers, I intentionally left them loosely rendered, embracing a sense of openness. The interplay of light and shadow was crucial in creating a dense atmosphere throughout the composition. When selecting colors, I focused more on expressing emotions rather than representing a specific time of day or season. This artwork became a personal exploration of my inner reflections and the depths of the unconscious mind. My intention was to convey the ethereal beauty found within fleeting moments of life, as well as the transient nature of life itself.
