Water and its reflection possess a unique ability to create a serene and peaceful atmosphere that transports us to a different world. The way clouds and deep water interact with each other living in a symbiotic relationship can be mysterious and wondrous. Similarly, the way waterlilies interact with the sky creates a sense of harmony that's both calming and mesmerizing. Water allows different images to intersect with each other, creating a world that embraces what is underneath and above. It takes us on a transformative journey reflecting not only the physical world but also our innermost thoughts and emotions. This exploration of water and its reflection has enabled me to delve deeper into my unconsciousness, opening up a realm of exploration beyond what is visible.

Sealed with UV varnish. Comes with Certificate of Authenticity.

—- About the Process —-

I embrace the process of starting a piece without a predetermined outcome, allowing the final result to unfold naturally. However, one constant theme that remains is my desire to showcase water as the central element on the canvas. In this particular artwork, I sought to explore contrasting ideas that mirror the multifaceted nature of water itself. It possesses a serene yet whimsical quality, simultaneously fluid and contained when nestled within a pond or lake. To capture this essence, I approached the piece with an intuitive yet controlled approach.

I commenced by outlining larger shapes in the composition, providing a suggestion of where the horizon might reside. As I progressed, some undefined shapes gradually found definition, while others remained free from boundaries. The application of layers of paint allowed certain elements to emerge, simulating the surfacing of objects within water, while preserving the depth by leaving branches or logs submerged. These decisions were made instinctively, though some moments required careful planning, particularly when balancing light and shadow.

Ultimately, the primary focus of this painting was to evoke a sense of liberation, akin to the profound emotions I feel when immersed in nature, in the presence of water.
